The 20-some inches of rain we received March 9 and 10 did extensive damage to a couple of our buildings. The gym building and the school building both had about six inches of water standing on the floors during the flood. All the floors in those buildings were damaged. On top of that, it was determined that there is asbestos in the glue on the floors. A special asbestos abatement company needs to be employed to take care of that. As of now, we hope to have the asbestos removed by the first of May.
After that, new flooring will have to be installed. So, we still have no idea when we will have use of those two buildings again. It is certainly an inconvenience, but thank God no one was hurt here during the flooding.
